Some thoughts on why I create short story collections.
I know short stories don't sell as well, but since I enjoy reading them myself, I figure others will as well. I just have to find those people.

It's nice to read a story but not commit to a 300+ page novel sometimes.
I agree. It is nice to read a short story and know it's going to be complete. Even if there's plenty of open horizon for the characters beyond the story, it's nice to have a momentary story with a tiny bit of closure.
